Andrea Petrlik graduated Graphic art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. She illustrating and writes picture books, postcards, posters and notebooks.
Her originals from the picture books The Blue Sky and Alice in Wonderland are a part of International Collection of „Chihiro Art Museum in Japan“.
In 2008, on the occasion of the World Book and Copyright Day - April, the 23rd, UNESCO chose for a poster one of her illustration.
2002 - Certificate of Honour IBBY for the illustrations in the C. Collodio’s book Pinocchio, Basel, Switzerland.
2002 - “Grigor Vitez” Award, Zagreb, Croatia for the illustrations in her picture book The Blue Sky.
2003 - The BIB gold plaque Award, 19th Illustration Biennale, Bratislava, Slovakia, for the illustrations in her picture book The Blue Sky and for the illustration in the L.Carroll’s book Alice in Wonderland.
2004 -The Grand prix OBI 04, Oita Biennale of Illustration, Oita, Japan, for the illustrations in her picture book Ciconia Ciconia (White stork).
2007 - A sheep in the box - award for the best Croatian picture book for the illustrations in her picture book Maleni.
2012 - Cyclops - award for the best Croatian picture book for the illustrations in her picture book Love.
2018. BIBF Reader's Choice Award (Beijing International Book Fair)
Andrea was Croatian candidate for ALMA – Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award 2019, 2018, 2017, and she was Croatian candidate for Hans Christian Andersen Award 2018.
