Ernst Mattiello wurde am 21. April 1941 in der Ostschweiz geboren.
Lehrerausbildung. Im Schuldienst bis 2001. Als Cartoonist Autodidakt. Veröffentlicht seit 1966 Cartoons in verschiedenen Medien des In- und Auslandes. Befasst sich seit 2001 vollzeitig mit Cartoons und veröffentlicht regelmässig Der Cartoon zum Tag auf www.mattiello.ch.
Er erhielt im August 2010 den Preis des Internationalen Cartoon-Festivals Goldene Kuh von Langnau.
2011 erschien sein Buch Leistungsträger im Verlag „Der Apfel", Wien.
