Bettina Bexte ist aufgewachsen in Hamburg und hat in Bremen Illustration und Trickfilm studiert. Seitdem lebt sie dort, gemeinsam mit ihren beiden Kindern.
Anregungen bekommt Bettina Bexte für gewöhnlich in den Cafés, in die es sie zum Arbeiten zieht. Gespräche am Nachbartisch oder Passanten wecken bei ihr allerlei Ideen. Dann zeichnet sie so lange, bis ein brauchbarer Cartoon entstanden ist.
Sie veröffentlicht unter anderem im Stern, Nebelspalter, Eulenspiegel und in der Kinderzeitschrift Gecko.
Sie hat im Carlsen Verlag Bücher veröffentlicht und ist an Cartoonsamplern im Lappan-Verlag beteiligt.
